....another Julia...

They do find me okay...somewhere on a dating network men looking for women. I have never subscribed and paid for any of these services. At one point I advertised for a friend, a fellow 10 years older than I am and using his profile...more or less. He has no internet access or interest and lives in Toronto. I have been literally bombarded with available female offers from a number of sources all directed at STRUDELKING, my friend, retired sells apple-studel baked products for a Toronto bakery on weekends.

One of these girly offers featured a nice looking lady from somewhere in Russia, a place called Penza...She sent me a few pictures of her and her married sister and a few pictures of different locations of herself, all nice and proper looking scenes, supposedly from Russia.
Her English was pretty good, only slightly garbled and relatively easy to understand. She told me about Russian men who have nothing in their head but to drink vodka and mess around...it almost sounded like north America.

Anyway....after corresponding for several weeks, Julia decided to get papers, passport, airline ticket and come to visit...well...she also sent a few more nice pictures of herself. To my amazement I spotted the statue of liberty ( New York City I'm sure you all know)...in the background...
I was foolish enough to ask her about it, have not heard from her since. Pity, pretty lady.
She never asked for money, travel expenses etc. Guess we never got that far after my new York picture question..

In any case, a couple of the pictures looked more like America than Russia....one snapshot even featured Staten island complete with the statue of liberty in the background. I sent her several New York pictures, postcard type of stuff and I think she got the hint. Betrayal, lies, misinformation who knows this nonsense is not what relations are built on, romantic or otherwise.
